El Salvador Day 5Normal day in El Salvador. We left to work hopeful we would have power and therefore water when we returned. That didn't work out. Our crack maintenance crew of 3 worked into the night with the hotel staff and electricians to rewire the electrical box and install a generator for the pump. By 10 pm the central building had water but not enough electricity to power the A/C. At least that is what the owner decided. We shared our showers but many of the team went to bed without water or showers. Not the most comfortable thing but certainly nothing like a crown of thorns or nails in the feet and hands. The clinic operation resumed on schedule. We saw more patients than the previous days and were working on appointments for Tuesday morning. The people in Santa Elena seemed to be fairly healthy. Not as much lice as we have seen in other towns in Usulutan department. Phil's school evangelism group is covering the kids. The schools here run double sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. That gives us more kids to visit with in fewer schools. Studies continued throughout the day with teams returning in many situations to continue previous studies. A lot of good work is being done in this community. At the evening service a man was restored. We are hoping that we will have appointments set for up through at least all of the morning on Wednesday of next week for week 2 folks. |
